We are the Prescribed Body Corporate for Kalkaringi, representing Traditional Owners and governed by rules of the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations (ORIC) and the Australian Charities and Not for Profit Commission (ACNC).

As a Prescribed Body Corporate the Native Title Act 1993 and the Native Title (Prescribed Bodies Corporate) Regulations 1999 (PBC Regulations) requires us to be registered under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 (CATSI Act) as determined by the Federal Court to hold and manage native title rights and interests.

The CATSI Act has tailored provisions for native title and PBCS to ensure there is appropriate interaction between the two laws and that obligations under each law don't conflict.
